National Gallery

The permanent collection at the National Gallery is one of the world’s finest collections of Western European paintings from 1250 onwards in the world. It includes famous paintings such as Van Gogh’s Sunflowers, Botticelli’s Venus and Mars and The Supper at Emmaus by Caravaggio. Temporary exhibitions on specific artists are also held on a regular basis. Please contact us for information on current exhibitions. School groups can have a free themed one-hour talk in the gallery, and these talks can be tailor-made for your specific requirements. They can also be specifically arranged as cross-faculty visits, such as Art/History or RE/Art.
